Understanding Tests in Recruitment as a Disabled Student

This is an online session for disabled students to understand, and familiarise with, the tests they may encounter in recruitment and the adjustments they might need. This session aims to help you feel more comfortable participating in psychometric tests and assessments whether for selection or for personal development.


This event will be particularly useful if you are a disabled student who is about to apply for graduate schemes and internships.


The session will cover:

• How we may respond to assessments and how this may impact on how you approach them

• The different types of assessments (psychometric and non-psychometric), and the kinds of adjustments you might request

• Why your candidate experience is an important aspect of your job hunting strategy

A leader in the transport industry will share her experiences of assessments in recruitment and requesting the adjustments she has needed for them.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A at the event. If you would prefer to send in your question by email please send it to j.l.tannett@ljmu.ac.uk by 9th October.

Students from any programme or level of study are welcome to attend to meet and network with 65+ employers from a range of sectors looking to hire students from across all courses and disciplines

Only organisations with currently available or upcoming opportunities will attend, so this is a fantastic opportunity to sort out your next steps.

A free lunch will be provided on a first come first served basis, so arrive early to avoid disappointment!

If you have a disability, health condition or are neurodivergent and find busy fairs can be overwhelming, join us from 11am for our accessibility hour. This will give you an opportunity to meet employers in a quieter environment.
